We are having problems with our Kenmore side by side Refrigerator, model # 106.9552911.

Our ice maker is filling up with water. It will fill the bucket and we will have a big block of ice.I decided to take off the outlet valve and check it out. I can blow thru the valve going to theice maker. When I try to blow thru the valve going to the water dispenser, I can't. Does thatmean that the valve to the ice maker is leaking.

We have a triple A outsidewater tank and it hasa pump on it. You can hear the pump kick in for a second to build up the pressure that isleaking by. Also when the on/off arm is in the off position the water continues to flow.

Would you say the valve is bypassing?

Thank you!

So, when the icemaker fills it overflows into the ice container? Does it stop by itself or do you have to turn the water off to the whole refrigerator to get it to stop?

It is either the water valve or the module on the i/m itself. If the water shuts off by itself, thenit isthe module.

Hi,

** I can blow thru the valve going to theice maker. When I try to blow thru the valve going to the water dispenser, I can't. Does thatmean that the valve to the ice maker is leaking**

That doesn't sound like a good fill valve!

I'm with gmannine, pull the refrigerators power cord and if the water wants to keep comming in through the fill valve sounds like it is mechanically staying open.

Icemaker and water dispenser water inlet valve kit

We did as suggested. We replaced the inlet valve. We now have ice!

Thanks for the help!
