Hello, I'm a new member, but thought I would chip in as I've done commercial laundry (coin-op and some heavy duty) and been a technician for the better part of the last 5 years. (Interspersed with some construction sidework and remodeling)
I'm heading to Sears office in Columbus OH in a few hours for a job interview for service tech. I hear they treat their people remarkably well, so wish me luck

Kevin,
Good luck in Ohio.
I used to take my wife and kids to Slanesville, W.VA every October in a motor home to visit good friends before they moved to Winchester, VA. Met all the neighbors--nearest one lives some two miles away
. Good people.
Not sure where you are located but Slanesville is beautiful country.

Hi Kevin,
Hope the job interview at Sears worked out good, I been with Sears ever since Montgomery Ward went bankrupt in March 2001. They actually came to our shop just before we closed and offered all the Wards techs. a job as Sears Techs.
They have treated me very well, great management, our manager is a great person to work with.
Hope it works out for you.

Update: They compressed the interview process into 2 interviews, the drug screening ( which I passed) and the background check release. I called to thank them for their time, and they said they would be calling me back with a start date after the background check. <keeps fingers crossed>

They said it would normally have been 3 separate processes - 2 interviews with managers, drug test and background check screening - so multiple trips would've been a bad thing.
Just a note though - Got the job
<jumps up and down like an idiot>
I'm still young enough to be tickled to death over a good company to work for.
