Kenmore Elite Dryer 110.64982300 bought 11/03 and ran fine (eg: wife was satisfied and pleased). Suddenly refused to run after PTS button released. Ordered from Sears: a manual, tech sheets (not realizing they were under the console) and a new PTS button. Manual and tech sheets arrived and I learned how to test the PTS. It was OK. Ordered a replacement motor relay, this time thru a local appliance store. Arrived in 3 days at same price as Sears and had a live, intelligent, English-fluent person to talk to. Installed it. No joy. Broke down and got Sears service ($69 for the visit.) Tech pointed out that R2 resistor was burnt (sound familiar?). New replacement board was #8546229. Didn't have any on the truck. The cost for a return replacement part and installation would be $360. At this point, I'm out $125. The unit new was only $560! I went to the local supplier and got a board for $108 (about $20 less than Sears), installed it. No joy!! This is why I don't go to Indian Casinos.

The fact that the local shop's supplier got the board to us in 1 day should have warned me that this was a popular replacement part. Next is a trip to the local appliance store for a new dryer complete with a sales person whose last name is on the storefront. Somebody to negotiate with in the future who wants my repeat business as Sears clearly doesn't.

Note: when popping the console on this unit, be careful to remove and save the "Console clips" otherwise they drop down into the guts of the dryer to be fished out with a magnet on a stick.

Yup, that evenheat dryer has been a problem since day 1 with that micro-computer board and thermistor, i always tell people whenever you change that micro-computer board, always change the thermistor too, i went out on a dryer like yours and the other techs. changed everything like you did, and i changed the thermistor, then it started working great.
