Kenmore Elite SxS Frig #106.54609300. Freezer side is zero degrees. Frig side is mid to high forties. Doesn't seem to be any air flow into frig through damper. Performed diagnostics and everything checked out ok. Air damper opened and closed during test. Checked resistance of Frig thermistat. All ok. Stuck popcicle stick in air damper to force it to stay open and the temp on the frig side came down to high thirties with good cold air flow. Any ideas?

The Air Deffuser Assembly will cause this, I do replace a good amount of these every year on my service calls.

Could the air diffuser be bad if it opens and closes in the diagnostic mode?

Yes it can, depending on the age of your refrigerator, they have made a upgrade to these, thats why i have been changing so many in the last 4 years.
