Gas Kenmore HD 70 Series won't start- Model# 110.97576200 75762
Model# 110.97576200 75762
I've been able to fix other problems on this dryer before based off of other threads, but need help on this one.
The problem is that the dryer has power (light goes on and off when closing the door), but the unit does not turn on when you close the door and the timer is in a position where the unit should be running (there is no 'start' button to push). The timer does not advance when you close the door either. I checked the thermal fuse with a multi and it is good. Is it as simple as needing to replace the timer assembly? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

No push-to-start switch? Someone stole it out of your dryer then, it is reference # 5 in this breakdown...

Unreal...I never even noticed it there before. I'll slap myself for that one. I bought the dryer used and the unit would turn on as soon as you closed the door if the timer was in a position where it could be running. I leave the buzzer in the off position because it keeps buzzing when the cycle ends so I never looked closer. I went down and pushed the button in and all is now well. My apologies for wasting your time on this one although I did learn something new today
Thanks again!

LOL....you do have a problem developing then...."the unit would turn on as soon as you closed the door if the timer was in a position where it could be running." .... This start switch was stuck, I would be replacing this soon as it is on its way out sometime in the future....

Yes, replacing that push-to-start switch will keep this from happening again.
Here is the one for your model:
Push to start switch, 4 terminal
