Default Kenmore Heavy Duty Wrinkle Guard I / No timer or Heat

Recently My old Kenmore Dryer Went out The Timer went out first than less than a week later there was no more heat. I think that the heat went out due to the timer not working and the heater working for way too long. Can someone help? It is an old dryer, but I have no money to replace. Are there online instructions? Where can I buy parts?

Thanks

Hi,
Could you post the model number?
When you say the timer went out what do you mean?
Did you have to replace the timer for the dryer to work again?
Did the timer just stop advancing?

If the dryer would still start but the timer no longer advanced would it not advance on any cycle or would it not advance on the auto cycles only?

Please post a model number and I can look up what you have for a dryer and get a better idea what you are looking at.

Where do I find the model #?

The timer stopped advancing on the automatic/wrinkle guard side, but will advance on the touch-up side

No I did not have to replace the timer, I am cheap so I need to fix that the cheapest way possible, I have just been using the touch-up timer

The model# is on inside front panel as you open the dryer door.

Yours may have a resistor that is attached to the timer, check that with a meter for the proper reading. Also check the sensor, if yours has one and the cycling thermostat.

More info is here:
