Kenmore 80 Series No Cold Water During Rinse Cycle
Hi Boards!
Came across this website as I was looking for help with troubleshooting my washing machine. I recently moved and with it came a Kenmore 80 Series Washer/Dryer set. They've been working fine, but recently I've been having problems with the washer.
It's model number is 110.24822200.
The problem is that during any of the rinse cycles (meaning washing using any of the washing cycle settings as well as the water temperature settings), only the hot water comes on and the cold water does not come on at all. Otherwise the cold water seems to be fine at other times. I've tested the machine to make sure this was the problem by having the hot water turned off and running the washer, as well as having the cold water turned off and running the washer.
Consistently, during the rinse cycle the cold water does not come out during the rinse cycle. Only the hot water comes out during the rinse cycle. Yet if it's not on a rinse cycle, cold water will come out at normal pressure. I am clueless
where to begin to search for the problem.
Thanks in advance! I'd appreciate any insight.

Switch the hoses around and see what happens.

I tried switching and it just ended up with there being no hot water running during the rinse cycle.

That's odd.
Does the washer spin ok?
I'm thinking maybe there is a problem with the lid switch.
I'm not sure on this model if it would fill with cold rinse water or not if the lid switch was bad.
It's easy to see if the lid switch is working. Advance the timer to the spin cycle and see if the washer spins with the lid closed and stops spinning with the lid open.
