Kenmore 90 series dryer won't start
Model 110.66902690 Kenmore 90 series dryer won't start. Push button, nothing happens. Checked circuit breaker, power is OK. A couple of weeks ago, when it still worked, I noticed that the timer didn't always move to 'OFF'. It would keep running until I manually turned it off. Clothes dried fine.
Thought I'd change out the thermal fuse (and check the venting) I'd read about in other threads.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks.

Drum light blew out ages ago. If I hold in the start button, I hear a click, then a faint tick tick tick tick tick tick ...

For the record, it was the thermal fuse and blocked (lint-filled) venting.

Same Problem
Please help. This morning I tried to start my dryer and experienced the same. problem. It just won't start. It doesn't make any sound at all. I'm new to this board and forums in general. If anyone can shed some light, especially in regard to a thermal fuse, I might have a place to start. Aside from this problem, the dryer has been working fine. Appreciate the help.

Is yours the same model# as the person above? If not came you please post yours here.
First check your breaker box for a tripped breaker, If its ok, then you will need a volt/ohm meter if you plan on doing the checks and tests yourself, cause you will need to ohm the thermal fuse to check for continuity, then check the voltage to the dryer, if electric should be 240 volts, if gas 120 volts.
Jeff1 has a great web page on dryer testing:

Thanks for the response. My model is Kenmore 77902791. After some testing we find the dryer will work for 10 minutes or so and then stop. Had a repairman come over who, after hardly any time at all, said the motor was dead. Any ideas?

After it stops in 10 minutes, when you try to restart it what happens? Any humming sound, any sound at all?

No, no sound after it initially stops. But after it rests for a while it will start again.

Sounds like the motor is overheating causing it to shut off on its overload switch. Motors can be high in cost.
