kenmore Ice maker not working--red light blinking
Just moved into a new house, the model refrig is kenmore 106.56549400. The ice maker was full of ice when we moved in, 2 days later aftere using ice, the ice maker does not mk new ice. In the freezer, next to the switch to turn the ice maker on/off, there is a red light blinking.
Is this something i can fix to get the ice maker working again?
Thanks

Hi,
Read this thread throughly, it goes into detail about what to check for:
Kenmore & Whirlpool Ice Maker LED Blinking Codes
Feel inside your ice maker, is there ice in it at all?
Also what position are the plastic ejector blades at? Pointing straight up, straight down? etc.

Jake,
Thanks for getting back, there is no ice at all in the ice maker or where it makes the ice.

Ok,
Check above your ice maker, you will see a black rubber tube coming down from the freezer ceiling, squeeze that and see if ice is clogged in it. If so, defrost it with a hair dryer and stick something up in there to see if you got all the ice out.
If thats clear then it sounds like your ice maker module is bad.
Here's the ice maker module for your model:

My kenmore side by side icemaker has not worked for some time.
I tried the optical test, and everything seems fine.
So I found the TH jumper thread and tried that.
The first time, the LED started blinking after 15 seconds and the gear moved about 10 degrees and stopped. I unplugged the jumper and the LED shut off.
I tried the TH jumper again and the the LED came on after 15 seconds, but the gear never moved. I unplugged the jumper and this time the LED blinking stayed on.
Any ideas? Thank you!

Yes, then its likely your module thats bad as well.
Whats the model# of your refrigerator? Its located inside the refrigerator section on the upper walls or ceiling.

The sticker is ripped, it is 106.565xxxxx. The serial number is SS3966822.
Can you give me the model number based on the serial number?
I did the TH jumper test one more time. This time the arms rotated all the way around once, but then stopped in the down position again.
Do you recommend replacing the module? Can you give me a part number based on the serial number?
Thank you! Josh

Can you give me the model number based on the serial number?
No way to do that.
Yes, it definitely sounds like the module is bad.
How a part# on the module itself?
