kenmore elite draining probs
opps i forgot to say it is a calypso. hello i talked a while back about a Leaky ring around the top of the washer which was a small leak now i had a code fl come up and i drained the washer and got it to agitate and run tell when it is supposed to drain one time i didn't get enough water out i guess then i got a ld i know what the fl and ld codes are my question is . do you access the pump from the bottom of the washer i got the ft off but don't look like you can get it off ? and the last time i could smell the pump motor get hot to hot to touch so i turned it off so i hope fully didnt burn out the pump . would some thing get in the pump to seize it ? how much for a new pump? or impeller if that is the only prob thanks kelly

Yes, I've seen lots of these older style pancake water pumps get clogged easy, they have now upgraded the water pumps to these:

thanks jake i tried to clean the hair and strings out of the impeller it worked for 5 loads then it did the same thing . so i am going to get a new pump for it. the manual for the whirlpool is a newer model . did whirlpool buy out Kenmore ? is that why the different names? i still haven't looked at the fridge yet . maybe some day lol thanks again kelly

The Kenmore models starting starting with model#110 are always made by Whirlpool.

Yup, Kenmore has a contract with Whirlpool to make their washers, So thats why it says Kenmore, but its built by Whirlpool.
