Question Kenmore Elite Dryer 3 beeps of death problem

This forum is great. I can tell that jake and jeff really know there stuff and care about this forum's subscribers. NIce work guys.

    I have a problem:

My dryer won't start. Just beeps 3 times quickly whenever I press the start button, and most other buttons for that matter. All my wife said was that the last time she used it, the light inside the dryer made a loud 'pop' sound and stopped working - this is the little 10 watt bulb that comes on when the door opens. So i switched that out, and still the dryer doesn't work.

I tried unplugging and plugging in a long time later (greater than one hour later) The readout display showed 'PF' but then the same thing happens - 3 beeps and no action.

The dryer is about 2- 3 years old and is one of the nice looking, front loading, viewable window on the door kenmore elite types.

I think the model number is: 110.72082101 - the only problem with that is that is the number for a gas dryer on the booklet I was given, but my dryer is not a gas dryer, electrical type....

    thanks for helping.

    Default fixed

just wanted to thank you for your suggestion, and post a follow up report.

After replacing the light bulb, there was no change initially. But when I awoke in the morning, the dryer worked normally.

Strange but true. Understandably, I may not have had any bearing on this problem with the light bulb repair, but I don't care right now, and I am just glad it is working again. I will report back if it doesn't stay fixed.
