Default How Exactly to Change out the Compressor Starter Relay?

I have a Kenmore side by side (Model No. 106.55526400) that is exhibiting all the signs of a broken starter relay. I managed to pry off the three pronged module with the capacitor (?) piggy-backed. I called my local parts store and picked up a 4 pronged relay, it looks like the relays shown in the kits I've seen online. I have no idea how I make this relay work given the nature of the existing equipment.

Thanks

2255198 is the part number on the cover from the orginial part in the fridge. The applicance store gave me just a generic solid state relay (MARS #32330). I looks like it will slip over 2 of the prongs on the compressor unit. But once its placed on the prongs there are 4 connections requiring wiring.

The parts store didn't have the original one?

I'd be very leery about using the generic one they sold you. Its always best to stay with the original one.

The Part#2255198 changes to Part#2319792 and its correct start device for your model, you can order it here:
Manufacturer's Number: 2319792
