Default Kenmore over not working, but range is.

When we moved into our house the previous owners left a Kenmore range. After cleaning it up, both the range and the oven were working.

However, now on the range is working and the oven will not turn on. Would it be the igniter?

If so, what are the next steps to getting it fixed?

Hi Jillian,

Whats the model# of your range?

Yes, it sounds like the oven glow bar igniter, do you see it glow orange in the bottom of your oven when you turn it on? but no gas comes out?

Where do I find the model number? When I looked on the door on the side there seems to be a metal tag, but it's too worn for me to make a number out. Would it be on the back as well?

I will check to see what happens when I turn it on.

It should be located on the very bottom front frame after you pull out your storage drawer.

Hi Jillian,

The way I test it is put my volt meter leads in that connector that goes to your oven igniter glow bar, when the oven is on you should get 120 volts on the volt meter. If you do and the igniter glow bar isn't coming on, then you have a bad oven igniter glow bar.

If you don't have a volt meter, you can get a cheap one at Radio Shack.

To get access to the oven igniter glow bar electrical connector, I take out the bottom storage drawer completely then get a flashlight or floodlight to see under there, and then I can see the oven igniter glow bar connector.

Here's the oven igniter glow bar for your model in case you need to order it:
Manufacturer's Number: WB13K21

WB13K21

Let us know how it goes.
