Ok,

Then its up to you what you want to do, fix yours or by a new dishwasher like gpernot did in post#46.

Bosch is a good dishwasher, but there's not as many servicers that work on them, including myself, as the domestic brands.

Nah, I definitely cannot afford to replace it. I mean, if I replace the motor, what other major parts could possibly need replacing? I'll take my chances, hopefully I can make it thru the install without too much cursing and busted knuckles. A quick glance at the linked manual, my biggest concern is disconnecting the electrical and water lines (looks like it has to be done from underneath, which does not sound like fun).

Well, I hate to say it, but the control panel and control board can go out, I've replaced lots on these 2nd generation models, the 3rd generation ones seem to be holding up much better.

Disconnecting the water is simple, just turn off the water supply to it under your sink, then use a crescent wrench to take off the water supply line, then turn your breaker off to your dishwasher, then unscrew the 2 wire nuts, also get pliers to remove your drain hose clamp, its the very middle front.

okay, got everything swapped out. We shall see if it makes a difference.

Only question: I found 2 white drip shields laying under the dishwasher, similar to the one attached to the wash motor; not sure what they are supposed to be attached to or how important they are.

You don't have to worry about those.

Let us know how it does.

Ran the dishwasher with a very light load of dishes and early indications are that it is cleaning better.

Oddly though, I notice a bit of unknown lime green liquid on the capacitor attached to the motor, and a drip of said liquid on the ground below it. Have no idea what that is all about.

Well, it's must have the placebo effect. After several weeks, it is clear that the top rack is still not getting clean. If anything, it's getting worse. $130 and a couple hours of time appear to have been wasted in replacing the wash motor. What now?

Thats odd, it should have fixed it, but its cleaning the bottom rack much better isn't it?

Since its just your upper rack,

Check for a broken manifold:
http://content.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/P9100269-00007.png
#6 is the upper spray arm manifold #7 is the funnel holder. If that manifold is broken it will shoot water directly at your door and never clean the dishes in upper rack.

Here's the manifold kit w/sprayarm if you need to order it:
Manufacturer part number 675808 is RepairClinic item number 679719
675808

Let us know what you find.
