Hi. The dispenser (part# 8269121) in my Kenmore 665.15933000 was broken and the part has been replaced with a new part (part# 8558128). The problem is that 8558128 does not have any place to insert the rinse aid sensor (part# 8533381). The Sears web site, RepairClinic.com, and other sites list 8558128 as the replacement for 8269121. I have gone thru 7 of the 8558128 parts with various vendors, and they all have the same problem. Do you know if 8558128 is the right replacement for 8269121? If yes, can you tell me where do I insert the rinse aid senor on it? If it is not the right replacement, can you tell me the right part to get? Thx for your help.
Hi, Jake. I did order the part you indicated from RepairClinic.com, and they have sent me several of this part, and none of them has a place to insert the rinse aid sensor. The other forum member's problem is not the same problem as my problem. I am not having problem identifying the right replacement part. My problem is that the new part does not have a place to insert the rinse aid sensor, where as the old part has a place for the rinse aid sensor. I am trying to figure out where to put the rinse aid sensor on the new part. Thx.
It goes inside the blue cap, just open it and pour the rinse aid in it, then lock it.
Oh, wait, the rinse aid sensor? I don't remember seeing a rinse aid sensor in the newer ones or even a place to install your original, I think they illuminated it.
Thx. If there is no place for the rinse aid sensor in the new dispenser, what do I do with the cable that was connected to the rinse aid sensor? If it is left disconnected, will it cause any problem for the dishwasher?
By the way, this is the picture of the back of the new dispenser shown on RepairClinic.com. Note the upper left corner seems to show a place for the rinse aid sensor; this looks similar to the old dispenser from my dishwasher.
Attached is a picture of the new dispenser that I received. I have gone thru a few of these with different vendors, including RepairClinic.com, and they are all like this one. It looks very different from the picture on RepairClinic.com, and there is no such place on the upper left corner as the above picture has. The front of the dispenser looks the same as what is shown on RepairClinic.com.

No, it should cause any problems, how old is your dishwasher? If you don't know post your serial# and I can tell you.
Like I said, I've changed about 5 of theses in the last 6-7 yrs. and I don't remember any having the rinse aid sensor. Just the 2 wires to the solenoid.
Yea, thats a 2000 model, they don't use the rinse aid sensors anymore on the new dispensers.
Have you tried running your dishwasher without it? Just tape the wires up that go to the rinse aid sensor with electrical tape and run your dishwasher and see how it does, it should be fine.
