Unhappy Kenmore oven won't work after self-cleaning

I have a Kenmore electric double oven, 790.47763400. After running the self-cleaning feature on both ovens, not at the same time, the bottom oven does not work. The top oven still works for both bake and broil. When setting the bottom oven to bake or broil, the display lights up, a few clicks are heard, but neither the baking or broiling elements heat up. The display shows no error messages and appears as it before self-cleaning.

Hi,

Lets first ohm the safety thermostat with an ohm meter, if you don't have an ohm meter you can jump the safety thermostat using an alligator clip or taking the wires off of it and using electrical tape to tape them together, just to see if the bottom oven comes on.

The safety thermostat is located in the back of your oven, so you would need to pull it out from the wall, you may need someone to help you.

Remember to turn the breaker off to your oven before touching any wires and before removing any panels.

Then take off the back access panel and its #219 here:

Here's the safety thermostat for your model:
Manufacturer part number 318003606 is RepairClinic item number 941739
318003606

If the safety thermostat is ok, then its likely your relay board.

Here's the relay board for your model:
Manufacturer part number 316429800 is RepairClinic item number 1056277
316429800

Default Jake

Jake,
Thank you for the info. I was wondering if it could be the oven sensor inside the oven on the back wall?

Not likely, that just controls the temp. once the oven is on already, a bad oven sensor wouldn't make the oven not come on at all.
