When its completely dead like that, then its likely your thermal fuse.

Here is a help link on this issue:
http://www.applianceaid.com/kadish2.html

You can ohm it for continuity with an ohm meter to see if it has no continuity. Thats what I always do.

Do you have an ohm meter?

Here's the cheapest one I found for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8193762

8193762

You must use the wiring that comes with it, or it will keep going out!

Its easy to change, it comes with complete instructions.

No, I don't have an ohm. I actually thought you were making a yoga joke at first. I'll try to locate the part and give it a whirl tomorrow. Will report back asap---

thanks a bunch

Glad to help Nicole.

You can get a cheap volt/ohm meter at any Radio Shack in your area.

Default how to replace the thermal fuse??

Hello,

So I just the thermal fuse and it came with instructions for a refrigerator, not a dishwasher. And even those directions don't talk about installation. I can see where the large plastic fuse end connects, but I don't understand how to connect the end with the wiring... the part I got has a plastic piece on the end of it, and does not look the ends of the exisiting part. Any suggestions??

THanks a bunch!

Nicole

Oh boy, I just found the directions online associated with the part link you sent me. Wow. I don't know how I feel about stripping wires...

Did you order it from the link I posted above?

It didn't come with the correct instructions?

Yes, I did order it from your link-it seemed like some weird mistake, the directions were for entering a code for a power display on a refrigerator. THanks for the correct ones, I'm going to print them out and hand them over to Dad, still scared of the wires!

Thanks!

Nicole
