Default Relay questions (Kenmore Coldspot 106.59502990)

First of all I would like to thank you all for providing such an insightful place for appliance related problems.

My SxS refrigerator (Kenmore Coldspot 106.59502990) just went kapoot on me. I've scoured the forums, visited all posted links, tried everything I could and I have come to the conclusion that the relay for my compressor is bad. I'm pretty sure its a bad relay because at times the freezer will work, but not for very long or very often. It is also clicking a lot. Now here are my questions:

1) Where could I find a replacement relay? I've searched the Sears Parts Store and came up with part#2261634 (2188393). The only description provided is "START-DEV" so I am not sure if that is the right one. Are there any off-brand relay that will work? Any other places with cheaper prices?

2) I've located the relay in the bottom rear of my refrigerator. Does it come out pretty easy? I've tried tugging on it a little to see if I could get it out, but stopped because I didn't want to break anything. I'm pretty friendly with fixing things so it shouldnt be that much of a problem; I just don't have much experience with refrigerators.

Luckily I have another fridge in my garage so my food will not go bad. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Yes, its very easy to change, they all are hard to pull off with your hands, I always use a flathead screwdriver and pry it off slowly.

The 3 in 1 kits will work , but its always best to use the original, You can click the part# i listed below to order it:

Part#2204307

The relay arrived today and I installed it right away. It was easier than I thought! Just pull out the old one, and plug in the new one (and remember where the wires go). My fridge started cooling immediately upon start and in under an hour I had ice once again. Thanks for all the help!

Would this be the same part number for my 59502992? I think the fridge is ok, but the freezer isnt working at all. The wife said she heard clicking noises coming from the "fridge" last night, so from what im reading this is my problem.

Yes, it would be the exact same part# for your model as well, I just noticed that part is out of stock at RepairClinic.com but pcappliancerepair.com has it, its abit cheaper too.

Here it is:
