Default Kenmore 587.15259401

Hi there. My Kenmore 587.15259401 has a leak I can't find anywhere else on your site. When I first noticed the leak, I took off the bottom panel and watched it as it ran with a flashlight. About halfway back on the right side, I noticed during a few of the cycles that water would just pour out from where there is a built in electical connection with a red wire going into it.

I pulled the dishwasher out today and in fact, the electircal connection with the red wire is all rusted and loose. I unscrewed a piece of copper that held it all together, and unplugged the wire from the connection and the part that goes up into the dishwasher is very loose. For additional reference, there are two of these type connections on the center right side of the bottom of the DW. There is one with a white wire going into it in the front and a red wire (problem area) behind that.

I can't figure out what the red wire does, nor do I know if I can use some sort of putty or silicone to fix the leak. Please help and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Thanks for the super fast response on a Sunday! Maybe - If by #1 you mean the thing the diagram is pointing to with a 1 by it and if it is the one with the red wire behind the one with the white wire. It looks to me like the #1 is pointing to the one in the front and my leak is coming from the one in the back, however I doubt it matters much as long as we can identify the problem.

So if it is this part, what do I do next?
