Default Kenmore wall oven 911 4742590 Error Code F2 or F3

We have a 2nd home that we rent out that has a Kenmore wall oven 911.4742590 that is reported to get an f2 or F3 error code. We had a repairman out to look at it and the report was:
"Oven sensor and Control(Runaway Temp)
Control(clock) is NLA Cannot repair."

Using repairClinic.com, entering 911 4742590, I get a sublist of 911 4742591 to 911 4742595. I assume different colors. Strangely some call for control clock 254318 which can be ordered and some call for 254257 which cannot be ordered.
I guess my questioin is would these be interchangable?

If not and I am out of luck at getting this repaired, are wall ovens built to some standard size so that I can buy another wall oven and have it fit in the same built-in space? It appears the the GE 27" JKP30WMWW is very similar in looks and features to the existing Kenmore.

Thanks for any advice.
John

Hi John,

Unfortunately not.

Yes, the wall ovens should all be standard sizes, best thing to do is take the measurements of it and go to Sears or any appliance store in your area and they can show you what they have in your size.

Some more research turned up the following.

Roper
Range/Stove 24" Built-In Self-Clean Wall Oven
Failure
Code
ConditionCheck/Repair
F2 Oven temperature above specifications 8-pin connector oven temperature sensor to the Electronic Range Control (ERC)
F3Open oven temperature sensorCheck wiring harness, replace oven temperature sensor if necessary

This indicates that it is likely the temperature sensor. Should I try to replace the temperature sensor before I buy a new oven? How difficult is it for a layperson to install a new sensor? Does the wall oven have to be removed or is it in the door?

Thats a Roper Range, yours is a Kenmore made by GE.

Its very rare the temp. sensors ever go bad on these, 90% of the time its the clock assembly.

I wouldn't even invest any money into your Kenmore at all, since that clock assembly isn't available anymore.

Just invest a new wall oven, save yourself the grief and frustration down the road.

Jake,
Thanks for the quick replies. I thought that some list showed model 911 as being Roper. But in any case, we will take your advice. Hopefully the new one will slip right into the old space.

Yes John all Kenmore models that start with 911 are made by GE.
