Default Kenmore 665.15624691 - Won't drain

Happy Easter All! I am at my parent's house today, and my mom says that her dishwasher is not draining. I took apart the drain hose, check valve, and removed all the internals down to the motor. Everything is clear. I am thinking that the motor itself is bad. When running the machine fills with water, and heats, but does not seem to do anything else except for whir. It seems like it tries to start as it cycles but stops within a second to two. Please advise.

Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon,

Please double check your model# again, that one doesn't pull-up as good.

So when you press the cancel button what happens? or if you have a timer knob style, if you put it in drain what happens? does it make any sound at all?

It is 66515625691, sorry about the fat fingers. When it cycles into the drain mode it whirs for a few seconds like it is trying to do something then stops. The dial/timer seems to be working fine as it would go through it's cycles. Also, when I had it all dissasembled I tried to turn the motor, but was unable to do so. Don't know if it should move though...

Thanks, that model# is good.

Yes, you will need a new motor/pump assembly.

Here's the cheapest motor/pump assembly I found for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 675793A
