Default Kenmore Limited Edition Motor Replacement

I have a Kenmore Limited Edition dishwasher model # 665.15894100 that needs to have the motor replaced. I was wondering how hard was this to do and is there a diagram somewhere that explains how to do it?

Hi,

Yes, but its easier to change the sump/motor assembly as 1 unit instead of pulling it out and then pulling the motor out of the sump.

You always have to remove that drain pump motor first before the sump/motor assembly lifts up and out through the inside of your tub. After I remove that drain pump motor on the right side, I reach my hand back and feel for that thermistor and untwist it to disconnect it, then I reach my hand even further back to feel the motor connector wiring harness and unsnap it, then everything should be clear to lift it up and out.

Here's the repair manual for your model:
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/52521bdbd0ef763c85256cbc00520548/$FILE/8178022.pdf

Page 17 Read 1-4 where it says this:

SERVICING COMPONENTS INSIDE THE WASH TUB
Removing the Inner Feed Tube and
Lower Spray Arm

Then on Page 21 it starts to get into detail of how to access the rest where it says this:
Accessing Components of the Sump Assembly

Here's the cheapest price I found on your wash motor assembly:
Manufacturer's Number: 8534942

8534942

Here's the sump/wash motor assembly for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8535150

8535150

Does that Sump/Motor assembly come as one unit or are the parts sold separately?

The sump/motor comes out as one unit yes. You can order it as one complete unit from the link I posted above to it.

OR

You can order just the motor, and re-use the old sump.
