Default Beeping Kenmore Dryer

My Kenmore 970-C85072-00 has its own personality.
It would beep-beep at odd times, running or not running.
Sometimes every 1 minute, sometimes every 5. Other than that it was working fine.
Last week it died - still beeps when you push buttons but will not start.

Have tested the following
Have 120V on each line, 240V total.
Jumpered thermistor, and door switch, still no change.
I'm guessing the control panel is pooched - any thoughts?

Al

Default Beeping Dryer

Ok - It's a $200 part so I need to ask a couple more questions

I ran the diagnostic tests:
fficeffice" />>>
I got an error code 18, which isn’t even in the manual!?!
>>
I ran the Function Test Sequence and all the function performed normally, and the thermistor seemed to be behaving normally - i.e as the dryer was hotter it gave a higher reading, when the dryer was cool it gave a lower reading.
>>
However I checked the thermstor resistance and it was 60K ohms, while the manual said it is supposed to be 50K +- 10%. Think it could be the the thermistor or still the expensve panel?

Thx

Al

No, because if it was your thermistor it would only beep when you tryed to start it, not when its off and not running.
