Kenmore 110.20922990 reading about the blance ring could be empty...How do I check to see if it is empty. It is a plastic Blance ring around the top of tub, do I drill a hole in to check?

No don't start drilling holes.
![]() Its highly unlikely the balance ring is empty, its more likely that either the rear self-stabilizing legs are not correct or the suspension plate is out of place or the suspension pads are worn out. First lift your washer from the back and see if the rear self-stabilizing legs reset. Jeff explains it very well here: http://www.applianceaid.com/suspention.html Read #2 here to remove the cabinet: http://www.applianceaid.com/procedures.html Jake

I was just replacing the lid switch yesterday and looked at the suspension plate and it look liked it was in place as in the picture. I did not look at the suspension pads or base pads. I did look at the plastic balance ring and don't know if any liquid is inside of the ring. the adjustable leveling legs are set in place. The floor is solid and new. should I just replace the pads for now?

Yes, it would be good to change the suspension pads. I've replaced many and seems to fix all the ones I did.

Ok Victor,
You shouldn't need to replace the plate pads, just the suspension pads. There are 3 and they are #18 here: http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_pn...0390-00005.png You can order them here: Manufacturer's Number: 285744 Jeff explains how to change them here: http://www.applianceaid.com/suspention.html Jake
