Default Kenmore Elite Treo burned floor under compressor

We have a Kenmore Elite Treo that is about 3 years old. I pulled it out today to look where to clean the condenser coils and unplug it to replace the ice maker (which was a piece of cake). When we pulled the fridge out from the wall, we were shocked at what we saw on our new linoleum. The floor was scorched and discolored, especially right below where the compressor sits.

We immediately called an appliance repair company and had someone come out since we were worried the floor could catch on fire and possibly burn our house down. The compressor was only pulling 1.1 amps, which he said was very good. The cover over the coils and compressor did have some blockage from dust by the fan inlet, but the coils were clean, even though I've never cleaned them in the last 3 years that we've had the fridge. The fan was operating and blowing air correctly too and we have about 3 inches of space between the back of the fridge and the wall for ventilation.

The appliance repair person had never seen anything like this. He made a few calls to fellow technicians who had never seen discoloring of this magnitude.

I've attached a picture. Please let me know your thoughts. Although everyone said there is no problem with the fridge, the picture seems to say something different.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thats very odd to me as well, usually I'll see that happen after a refrigerator has been in the same spot for 15-20 years, but never this new.

Don't know what to tell you either.

Do we need to worry our floor will catch fire?
