Default Washer "pops" breaker when dryer is also going..

I have a Kenmore Washer/Dryer Upright Combo - I can't find the model of my washer, but the dryer model is 970-098862-10 (it is Gas). When the dryer is on & the washer is going, it is blowing the washer's circuit breaker. Have you heard of this before? I think it might be the main motor? This happened before & I am pretty sure I had to replace the motor - that was a couple of years ago - this unit was BRAND NEW in 2000!!! IS this a common problem? I am getting pretty discouraged. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

That sounds like a weak breaker in your home breaker box, I would have a electrician check it. If the breaker tripped every time you started it, then it would be a washer or dryer electrical short issue.

Default Not the breaker

The house is only five years old - I think the motor is working too hard - when I do a load, it fills & then when it starts to spin, it stops & the breaker pops - then there is a oily smell coming from the washer basin. This only happens when the washer & dryer are going at the same time. BTW, the Dryer is on its own separate breaker.
