About a month ago the dyer had lowo heat so I pulled the top and rear covers off and cleaned out the dryer, packed with lint, and we're working on getting the ducting to the roof professionally cleaned out. Unless you have any idea on what to use to clean it out..
Yes I removed the plug from the power source.... Checked my fuse box, all fuses are properly set.. It is a Kenmore He3t electric dryer with 110.848xxxxx as the model number. I will update that number when I get home. The Dryer was working fine but we noticed longer drying times so presumed it was not creating much heat which is the reason I pulled the top and rear panel, after cleaning it worked fine for a couple of weeks. Now we have no heat at all but everything else works and I have no error codes on the panel. On the control all lights and buttons work, dryer will start, drum turns, interior light works, just zero heat. Pulled the front lower panel and the vent down tube, cleaned it as well, with my meter checked the Thermal fuse by pulling one wire and checking Ohms for continuity or 0 and that registered correctly at 0. Next I checked the heater block , disconnected one terminal, and using the same meter at the same setting and it stayed at infinity, no Ohms reading changed which per the manual should be 7 to 12? I have yet to check the Thermal Cutoff or High Limit Thermostat switches. What else should I check? it appears maybe the heater unit is inoperable? The lint was scorched some that I took out of the heater unit. Need to get this thing rolling before I get tossed out Thanks |

Its likely going to be either the heater itself or the thermal cut-off thats mounted on the side of the heater housing.
Check those for continuity when you get home, make sure you unplug your dryer first. ![]() And please post your full model# as well when you get home. ![]() Jake

Touch your meter probes together on 200 on the meter and tell me what you get.

I wanted to see what your meter reads when you touch your meter probes together, so I can see if your readings were, as all meters are different. Some common tips... http://www.applianceaid.com/test_with_ohmmeter.html http://www.applianceaid.com/whirlpoo....html#no-eheat 0 is continuity Jake

reading crossed at 200 is .3 so it shows continuity as thats probably the resistance of the wires on the digital MM
