Default [FIXED] 665.95179300 Bake/Broil Not Working-Pictures

Kenmore Triple Task Freestanding Range.

The bake and broil went out after my wife had put the oven through the cleaning cycle (which did not work). My wife said she had smelled a faint electrical smell a few times in the weeks leading up to this.

I checked the Display Code, which read E1, F3, which indicates that the Oven Sensor is Shorted. I checked the wires, which appeared to be fine. I checked the bake and broil again and it still did not work. I then replaced the oven sensor as directed by the tech sheet. Bake and broil still do not work.

Went back to the oven to check wiring again. Found what looks to be a short on the back of the board. I have attached some pics - two that show one of the connections that looks burned out, and one that shows where some "droppings" fell from that connection.

I know this may be obvious, but that looks bad. Means I am probably going to need to replace the control board. Would you mind giving me some confirmation on that, or whether I need to check for something else also?

Thanks.

Got the board today. Just to be safe, since this thing is not cheap ... what advice do you have in installing it. I figured the advice you give would be helpful to some other people, too.

Thanks again for all your help.

Pull your range out from the wall, Then unplug your range , then take off the upper back access panel, then mark down on paper where you take the wires off the old board, then unmount the old board, should be about 4 screws around it.

Then install the new board and put the wires back(should be same location) then install the back access panel and your good to go.

Ok. I am feeling not very smart now. How do you get the Control Panel unmounted? I am not seeing any screws. All I see are silver clips that seem to be holding this thing on. I am sure this is painfully obvious, but dawg-goned I ain't seeing it.

Can you provide some more detailed advice on unmounting this puppy?

Thanks.

Ok, then you should see plastic clips that you can push-in then I believe the control board will slide and pull out.

I don't see any plastic clips, but there are several metal clips that protrude through small slots (see the attached picture). It appears that you would have to bend the little clips, but I am concerned that they will break if I bend them. They don't seem too terribly sturdy. However, I can't see another possible way to get this board off.

I hope there is not a crazy easy solution to this that my eyes are just not seeing. Thanks again for your help!

Yes, you just bend them even with the slots in the control board, don't worry you won't break them.

Then the control board slides out.
