After loading and running it and the next day I opened it and found
the soap was still in it. I closed the door and hit canel button, which ran for about 2 mins (pump running), Now the clean light/led blinks all the time and if I try too run it again, it won't start. I disconnected it for 10 mins and retried. When I try to start it the start LED just blinks 2 times, then stops, Mean while the clean just keeps blinking away. I have noticed that sometimes it does not wash everything well, some food or coffee stains in cups. I don't have the service papers for it, so if you could find a link for that, does this model have the self diagnostics test??? I can trouble shoot it. I am and electrican so I can do any tests on it. Thanks for your time and any advice. Robert |

Hi Robert,
Count how many times the clean light blinks in a row(sequence). If 7 times, then its likely the heating element. To Reset: 1) Crack the door open. 2) Within 3 seconds press the following sequence - Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry 3) Close and latch the door 4) Press the cancel button (the circle with the triangle in it) Here's the repair manual for your model: https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/52521bdbd0ef763c85256cbc00520548/$FILE/8178022.pdf You would need to ohm your heating element for continuity, a good element should show 30 ohms or less. Make sure the breaker is off to your dishwasher first. Its likely the electrical terminals are in the very back, so you'll likely need to pull your dishwasher out to ohm the heating element. Take the heating element wires off first before testing the element for continuity. But first feel your heating element all around inside your dishwasher, if you feel bumps on it or pits in it, its definitely your element thats bad. Here's the heating element for your model in case you need to order it: Manufacturer part number 8537057 is RepairClinic item number 1164450 8537057Jake
