417.42052100 model
Descrition of Problem: Water fills and drains out of the washer however the washer is not able to spin. Investigation so far: 1. Opened front panel and followed instructions for a motor that won't spin. 2. During the testing I noticed that the water pump was very noisy and didn't work correctly. Fixed that 3. After removing the belt, the motor doesn't free spin. However if I place it on the spin portion of the wsah, I head a high pitched sound. If I then barely touch the motor it will begin to move and cycle through the move even going to high speed. 4. I tried to measure all voltages however I wasnn't able to get any readings with my Multi-meter. Out of any of the pins on the control board. However since the motor is capable of moving with a small push I figured that the control board is not fualty??? The motor has 5 wires total, 3 are for the phase of power, and 2 are for a techometer generator? What is the purpose of these two, and could the fact that I manually move the pully cause a voltage to generate through and allow the motor to turn? Alternative Root causes: 1. Timer: Seems to be able to go from the begining of the load to the end. 2. Door: Seems tht it is working, light is on and door is completly latched. 3. TBD PLEASE HELP!!! ![]() |

I replaced the spin controller and it hasn't fixed the problem. Initially when the controller was purchased I check the Resistance and it was around 2.6 M ohm, which was out of tolerance on the 3M ohm +-10%.
However after replacing the spin control board and starting from the begining of normal wash the motor actually spun, but then quickly stopped? I hope that the controller hasn't fried. After measureing the resistance of the 3 motor phase lines. 1-2 = 1.3 ohm, 1-3= 1.3 ohms, and 2-3 = 1.3 ohm which is out of tolerance and we suspected the motor. What else makes a motor not move when power is supplied? I measured the voltage to gorund of the moror wires, and it read like 160V. It seems the motor is getting power but not moving unless you push it. |

That is odd, then its possibly the motor, yes.
Here's the motor for your model: Manufacturer part number 134869400 is RepairClinic item number 1378616 134869400You can order the motor and if that fixes it, you may not need the motor spin control board, in which you can return if your original motor spin control board for a FULL refund if it works with with a new motor. The motor fixed it... So here are my thoughts... Once the pump went out it over loaded the motor... I wasn't able to figure it until I checked the resistance values on the chart for m1-m6.
Crappy instructions and washer IMHO... |
