Default Kenmore Ultra Wash 665.15805890 very low water level

I have a couple of issues it's seems. The main one being that it appears the washer is not filling up with enough water. When the dishwasher is started you can hear what sounds like the tub filling up correctly, but once the washer starts washing if I open the door there is very little water in the tub. Canceling/draining appears to be working fine and the dishwasher sounds like it's working correctly, other than it does sound a bit "off" when it's washing, I assume because of the lack of water.

I thought I was going to get off easy because the shutoff valve for the dishwasher water line under the kitchen sink was bad, but after replacing it the problem still exists.

I've disassembled the bottom of the washer from the inside and cleaned everything and reassembled. Although I'm not sure I have the two check balls back in the correct spot. I dropped them both in what appears to be the drain opening, because according to the diagrams that's where they belong?? That's not where they were when I removed the bottom assembly, but the local Sears Parts store "thought" that's where they go.

I've also removed and disassembled the water valve to check it for a clog.

Please help. Thanks!

The other problem, which I'm not too concerned about, is that only the Pots & Pans button works, the regular wash button does not work.

Here's where the 2 balls go:
#7 are the check balls:

For the low water issue Sounds like your water inlet valve is bad.

Here's the water inlet valve for your model you can order:
Manufacturer's Number: 8283346

8283346

Here's a help link to get the bottom access panel off:
how to remove the access panals on a dishwasher for service Maytag Frigidaire GE Kenmore Whirlpool Inglis D&M

As far as changing the inlet valve, its pretty easy, just turn off the water, undo the water line, brass elbow, electrical connector, and the small rubber hose on the back of the inlet valve. then use a threading compound on the elbow threads and reconnect everything.

#16 here is your water inlet valve:

So both check balls do drop down inside part number 22 seal / 23 drain cover, correct?

I've removed and disassembled the inlet valve already checking for a clog, so replacing that wont be a problem. Any chance there is something else wrong that's keeping the water out?

Thanks again and thanks for the quick response!!
