Default Kenmore Front Loading 417.44092500

Hello Everyone, love this website! It's helped me repair most of my appliances at one point or another!

My kenmore washer is not spinning on "some" of the cycles. We will run a regular wash, the clothes will still be soaked (water does drain). I will then run the "drain/spin" cycle. The pump will run to drain, a minute or two of agitation, and then the cycle ends 7-8 minutes before the controller says its supposed to end. I assume the next step is the final spin. Repeat runs yield the same result. I then run a "quick" cycle, and it spins fine. Spin setting in on High.

The failure of the high speed spin does not happen every time. And it does agitate.

Any ideas? It becoming more and more of a problem, more frequent. I've already had this machine apart once for a drum leak, so I am able to repair some items.

Thanks for any help!

I'd say its either your door latch assembly or motor spin controller board.

Did you check your tech. data sheet? Its located inside the bottom of your washer on the inside panel.

How old is your washer? If you don't know post the serial# and I can tell you.

Here's the door latch/lock assembly for your model:
Manufacturer part number 131763245 is RepairClinic item number 1191127

I was hoping that the problem went away. It has worked since my original post with no problems. It's began acting up again today. It still agitates, but does not spin. I believe it's not spinning in any cycle now.

I'll get the serial number once this run is complete. I wonder about the door latch, the bottom of the door does not seat flush with the unit. Or course it may not run at all if the male part of the door latch does not seat correctly.

I'll also take the bottom panel off and get the tech sheet.

Thanks for your help!

Ok, yes, check your tech, data sheet and let me know.

Here's the Frigidaire/Kenmore 417 Service manual:

3.0 cu.ft. Horizontal Axis Front-Load Washer (Good & Better Models):
www.applianceblog.com/manuals/5995413084_Washer_2004.pdf

It explains how to run the diagnostics and see if a error code appears.

Thanks for the manual! I ran the test procedure. The washer did enter a spin cycle and then returned an error code of E47. The test in the manual says I need to test the resistance in the PTC of the door lock assembly.

Thanks for your help! I may be ordering that door module.

Yup Brian, that E47 means door switch/lock assembly bad.

[FIXED] Frigidaire Front-Loader - No Spin - Code E47

Ordered the part. Thanks for the link to the previous repair. I thought I would need to remove the door seal again ( had a drum leak before). I was not looking forward to that again. Removal easy, installation was a nightmare.

Thanks again.
