Unit is only about 2 years old. Unit runs, but does not heat. I've checked the main (garage) fuse - appears to be getting full power. Is it the heating element? How can I be sure?

Hi,
I quit Sears just before they started selling these, so I had no training or repair experience on these Oasis models. Sorry about that. Hopefully another tech. or member that has seen this problem before can help shed some light on this issue. I'll ask TechnicianBrian if he can assist you. Jake

Most likely, you have a thermal overload that has failed, possibly due to a restriction in the dry vent. There are two versions of the Oasis, one easy to work on and one that requires a very more screws to be removed. If you can provide the full model number, I could be more certain which one you own and can point you in the right direction. And if you have a multimeter, checking these components will be much easier.

To make any tests, you will need to remove the front panel, then remove the lint screen housing and possibly the front bulkhead which holds the front of the drum in position. The heater box is on the left which holds the element, and the high limit thermostat and the thermal cut-off are mounted to the side of the housing. Using a multimeter, do a continuity check of each component to find out which one has failed. You may also want to start with a voltage check between the two outer wire connections at the terminal block to verify you have 240vac going into the dryer before you dive in to deep.
