Over the stove microwave seems to work except for the fact that when it starts up it sounds as if a capacitor is charging up. If you cook with a power setting less than 100 the capacitor sound cycles during the cooking. I am assuming that would be as it turns the power off/on during the cycle?

If you are hearing a high pitched sound, it may be the capacitor but the fact it still works makes for an odd combination. They are inexpensive enough to replace, but you may want to do some isolation and make sure the noise is indeed coming from the capacitor before buying any parts.

Hi all,
-Some- magnetron ends that burn make an acring/sparking sound. -Some- wave guide covers can also make this arc/spark sound if burnt. jeff.
