Default [FIXED] Kenmore 106.50517003 ice maker not filling

I have a Kenmore Refrigerator model 106.50517003 (I think it was made by Whirlpool).

About a week ago, I found some ice inside the freezer below the ice bin, and not long after that I noticed that the ice maker was not working. When I checked the ice maker, it was not filled.

I think the freezer door might have been left ajar and then closed before we realized it had been left open. The ice bin shows signs of thawing and refreezing.

After checking this site, I took the step of checking the fill tube, and it was frozen and blocked. I removed the blockage and thought I was done, but still no ice the next morning.

Yesterday I checked the ice maker solenoid with a cheater plug and got nothing, so I think I need to replace the feed module.

First question..I see the solenoid for the water dispenser (tested...it works), and I see the solenoid for the ice maker, but there is a third solenoid on the feed module that feeds a third tube that runs parallel to the tube that supplies the water dispenser. What is the third valve/supply for? I want to make sure I'm not missing something before I order a new feed module.....

Thanks.

Here's the water inlet valve for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 2206123

2206123

I'm not sure where that 3rd solenoid goes to, see if you can trace the tubing that goes out of it and locate where it goes to.

Default Worked! But another question....

I got the valve today, installed it, and was happy to hear ice dropping into the tray a minute ago. Thanks for the help.

One last question... The fittings on the valves for the water lines were something I haven't seen before. The old valves had compression fittings, but the replacement valve had a new style of fitting. I just inserted the tubes into the fittings and they seem to have seated well and are not leaking. Is there anything else I need to do?

Again, thanks.

Yes, thats the new o-ring compression fittings, its normal now on all the new ones.

Just make sure the water tubing is pushed-in tight and it won't leak.

Once the tubing is in place and you try to pull it out, it shouldn't come out, unless you push-in on the o-ring while pulling the tubing out.
