Default [FIXED] Kenmore HE2 Washer

I have a Kenmore HE2 Washer model 110.46462501 without a display. I ran the diagnostic test and I think I have an F/21 error -- add a garment rinse clothes clean.

Most like a pump filter problem I am betting? How do I clean the pump filter? Do I have to tip the washer back to remove the bottom panel?

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Stu

Hi Stu,

Yes, you can tilt your washer back a little to get better access to the 3 bottom screws to remove the lower access panel.

Unplug the Machine
Remove Three Torx (hex heads) screws on front bottom of machine. Slighty lift the panel and pull the bottom towards you. Pump is right in middle in front of you.

Unscrew the pump handle with your hand, get something to catch the water thats left in it in.

The water pump changes from #8540024 to #W10130913:
(The manufacturer has replaced part#8540024 with this item, part #W10130913.) (Manufacturer part#W10130913 is RepairClinic item #1373005.):

Let me know what you find.

Jake

Default Clean and Working

Jake,

Thanks for the information. I got it cleaned out. It was pretty full of lint and whatever. Some of the more interesting stuff

a pencil tip with the eraser
a broken key
6 bobby pins
50 cents 1 quarter 2 dimes 5 pennies
3 hair ties
a small rock

Ran a couple of loads after it was cleaned, no problems.
