Default HE 2t f28 water on floor/bottom washer

My HE 2T started failing with error F28 the other day. After fiddling with it one night, it started working again the next morning.

After 2 loads it stopped again. I fiddled with it again, and then this morning I got it to run through *almost* one complete cycle (3 minutes left when it failed).

This time I noticed a small amount of suds on the floor on the left side and left back of the washer. Then when I took the bottom panel off to unlock the door, I noticed some water pool in the bottom of the washer and some wires sitting in the water.

Now I am wondering if the water is causing a short, and maybe that explains why after a night or two (with time to dry out) it will work again.

I looked for quite a while with a flashlight and can't seem to tell where the water is coming from. There is not a lot of it, and I don't see any drips or dampness around any of the hoses.

Any ideas?

Whats the model# of your washer? Its located inside the door.

F28 code is a comm failure between the MCU and the CCU. First, check the wiring harness connections to the MCU, the Motor, and the CCU. Make sure all the connections are tight and there are no ground wires off. Then check the connections of the CCU board within the housing.

No, the water shouldn't have shorted it.

Are you using HE detergent? If not, that would explain the extra suds/water leak.

Yes, always using he detergent.

I have disconnected and reconnected everything back over the last few days, and no luck.

The reason I thought the water had something to do with it is because if I leave it sit for a few days it will work. But it will stop again after one short cycle or towards the end of a long cycle. Once it stops it won't start up again. I almost immediately get the F28. If it has been sitting for a day or two (and dries out??) it will work much longer.

There were barely any suds on the floor, just enough to notice them. Also, water had pool in the bottom.

Ok, then you will likely need a Sears tech. to come out on yours.
