Default Kenmore series 110 Spins Slowly

My washer will spin, but doesn't spin fast enough to remove all the water from my clothes. My son turned the washer off when it was spinning, and it has done this ever since. The washer is about 10+- years old.

Hi,

Whats the complete model# of your washer? Sounds like possibly the clutch/basket drive assembly may be worn out now, that can happen just from normal use over the years.

Those parts are fairly expensive, and if the washer is over 10 years old, it wouldn't be worth throwing that much money into it, as other parts are wearing as well.

Average life of washers now is only about 8-12 years.

Hi Jake,
Thanks for getting back with us so fast. Our model # is 110.23812100. We were wondering if it could be the clutch or brake system.

When you change either the clutch or the brake, you have to change the other, so you would change them both, if you don't change them both, its only a matter of time till you have to take it apart again to change the other.

Believe me, I learned from experience.

Its possible, you can change the coupler and see if that makes a difference in spinning.

Manufacturer’s Number: 285753A
