Default Error codes

Model Number: C970
Brand: Sears Kenmore
Age: 1 -5 years

Hello,
I have a Kenmore Elite cooktop . Model # is C970 there is no serial number on the front or back or inside the drawer. I bought it new from a guy that fixes freight damaged units so there is no warranty.
It has worked fine for almost 3 years but last night the wife said she cleaning the top of it and now error codes have started. It shows F20 and ERR in the EOC beside the clock, then shows F5 in the element displays.
If I turn the power off, then turn it on again , set the clock, the elements will operate correctly for maybe 20 seconds, then the F20 ERR returns followed a few seconds later by the F5 and the elements will shut themselves off.
Not knowing the exact model # is going to be a pain so I've attached a couple of photos in hopes that it can be identified.
Thanks for any assistance.

Hi,

C970. is the beginning of a full model#.
C970.????????
970. prefix is a Frigidaire built Kenmore.
Might want to try asking them what the codes are.
Frigidaire - Contact Us

That's cause the only true info is on the model/serial tag on the unit....which may have been removed
Canadian dept store models are often not online as well.

I opened up the front and found a couple of serial # on the circuit boards.
The first is an Electrolux board # 316442030, second is a Spitfire clock display board 316418784 and also has SF5521-L8784 Rev A on it.
Based on the error codes and the fact that it will operate for a short time after I reset it, which do you think is the likely culprit?

Welcome to Canada....Mexico made part gets taxed in the USA, taxed when it comes to Canada and by the time we get the part it is 2-3 times the price.
