Default [FIXED] HE2 Plus (110.47532601) Pump Problem?

    Model Number: 110.47532601
    Brand: KitchenAid

Hello all, I am new to the forum and will thank you all in advance for your assistance.

I have a 2-3 year old Kenmore HE2 Plus front loader washer (110.47532601) that was found to have standing water in the tub and giving error code f-21. I have check the drain line and found it to be free of clogs and kinks.

Am I safe to assume that the pump needs to be replaced? Can I accomplish this myself?

    Thanks

you should also check the pump filter for debris its part#14 in link below http://www.searspartsdirect.com/part...0607083&blt=06

i would also check the tub to pump hose for debris, clogs #6 in diagram , tell us how that goes

I checked the filter and found a good amount of debris (change etc..) I clean all this out and replaced the filter thinking i had solved the problem. I then started a test load.

A decent amount of time passed when I found that the f-21 code was again flashing. I also noted a humming sound during the test load that I dont remember ever hearing.

I removed the filter again and a large amount of water (from th tub) came out. This leads me to believe that it is the pump. Based on the humming?

The only thing that confuses me is that I took the drain hose out of the wall drain. I then disconnected it from the pump. I then attempted to blow air through it with my mouth. I found a good amount of resistance. Water came out of the pump end however when I lifted the drain end of this hose.

there shouldnt be much resistance in that drain hose, run something down that hose to try to unblock it

no problem, also if your pump is noisier than usual it pobablr is getting tired so that the next thing you'd have to do is replace that pump, if you need it just come back to this post and Jake will link you to the correct part you need
