Default Kenmore Ultra Elite Power, but won't run

    Model Number: 66516989200
    Brand: -major brand-

Unit stopped in cycle. About a year ago the thermal fuse went out on this unit and was replaced. I don't think that's the problem now, because there is power at the control panel. You can push any of the buttons and get it to light up, but it won't start.

The start button looked indented and very warn.

    Any ideas?

    Jason

New information. My wife just tells me she smelled something electrical before it quit. I opened up the control panel, heres what I found:

    - melted connector
    - burned control assembly (one of the post the to connector is off)

So, it looks like I'm going to need to replace the electronic control assembly. What about the wiring connector? Can one order one of these as well?

A wiring harness would be required. You could always clip the wires and just spice on 1/4" terminals for that repair. You may want to check with sears. Some of these models were recalled due to heater issues. The heaters were drawing too much current and taking out the boards. Not sure if yours is one of the ones affected or not.
