[FIXED] Kenmore Ultra Wash Quiet Guard 3 - not heating water?
Seems like the dishwasher is not heating the water? It isn't drying with heat either I believe...I am wondering if there is a blown heating element I can replace myself without a repair man?

Yes, sounds like the heating element is bad. You can ohm it, it should read 11-50 ohms. Make sure you turn the breaker off first to the dishwasher before doing the ohm test.
The Sears site is down tonight for maintenance, I'll get the part# in the morning.

Will I need additional parts supporting the repair or just the element itself? Hard to replace?
Your expertise is much appreciated!

No, you shouldn't need additional parts.
Here's the heating element for your model you can order:
Manufacturer part#W10134009 is RepairClinic item#1381534

Yes, there is 2 ways you can do it, you can either unhook your plumbing, electrical, and drain hose from it and pull your dishwasher out to get to the back of it,
or take off the front panel as described on page #17, step#1, Fig.3-7:
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Servic...LE/8178022.pdf
then remove the access panel described on page #20, step #1, Fig.3-15.
then remove your drain pump described on page #21, step #1 & #2, Fig3-18.
Then follow my thread post #2 here:

Jake
Just wanted to follow up with you.....part came in Friday and installed it yesterday and I have nice clean dishes!!!! I can't thank you enough for your help...this cost me less than $30 and I figure I saved over $200 by the time I would have had a repair man out.
Thanks...wish I could return the favor. I really appreciate it very much!
