I have searched this forum for a post describing the symptoms of my problem, but none are quite right. So I hope you don't mind if I post a new thread.
Here is a description of the symptoms of my problem with the Kenmore Model # 110.60912990 Series 90 Electric Dryer: With the dryer on the normal timed mode set for 60 minutes dry time, the dryer starts and runs for about 30 minutes before stopping prematurely (no buzzer notification). If I try to immediately restart the dryer, it won't start, but emits a faint buzzing sound after two or three presses of the start button, and then emits no buzzing sound with subsequent presses of the start button. I even tried spinning the drum by hand while pressing the start button with the door switch closed, but the dryer still won't start. Then, after waiting 30 minutes, if the start button is pressed the dryer restarts and runs normally until the drying cycle is complete. Thinking the dryer is overheating due to a venting problem, I cleaned the lint from the vent tubing. What should I try next? Thanks in advance for your help! ![]() |

Sounds like your motor has gone bad, would probably need to replace it, it is overheating and kicking out on its overload then running again when it cools down.

Thanks Pegi. Do you recommend that I take the motor to a shop to have it rewound/refurbished, or should I simply replace the motor?
Thanks |

Sounds like the bearings are going bad, these motors are throw aways, you would replace it....
