Kenmore Trio Door Seal Replacement - hook is broken
Brand:
Sears Kenmore
Age:
6-10 years
Hi, My Kenmore Trio right side refridgerator door seal needs to be taken off because the plastic "hook" (cam) that holds the door closed has broken off the top. This hook can only be put on if you take the seal off because it is behind the seal. I believe the part # is 4987JJ2002N.
I believe that the seal may be screwed in but can't find any screws. (This happened before on the left door but it was under warranty. The repair tech was able to get the seal off and replace the part underneath it without replacing the whole door.)
Can you explain how to get the seal off so we can replace the "hook" part? Any tips would be helpful. Also, how do we get the seal back on?
Many thanks,
Jean
For reference, I attached a picture of where the hook is broken off the door and a picture of where the hook would clip on to the top inside of the case.

Hi Jean,
I haven't worked on the Kenmore 795 models made by LG for this issue or I could walk you through it.
Hopefully another tech or member thats done this can assist you.
