The lid to our Model 110.22802100 was closed hard enough to break the lid switch screws and dislodge the lid switch. We have rigged the switch by taping it into place but this has only held for a few loads. I am trying to determine whether a new lid switch is necessary or if replacing the the screws & washers are sufficient. Also, is it necessary to open the machine up to make such a repair?? Thanks!

Yes, you would need to change that lid switch, putting the screws back in won't hold it.
Yes, its better to take the machine apart to do it. Jeff has a good website to show you how: http://www.applianceaid.com/procedures.html Here is a new lid switch for your model you can order: Lid switch assembly Jake
