Kenmore Series 70 Washer Won't Agitate, Spin or Drain
Brand:
Sears Kenmore
Age:
More than 10 years
Prior to completely not working my washer would make a sqeaking/squealing noise once in a while in the spin cycle, once in a while there would be a slight burning smell also. I don't think it was spinning the clothes as dry as they should be either. Now it fills but will not agitate, spin or drain. The next day it started to agitate but then quit and nothing works again.
If you could please give me a list, in order of priority, of things to check I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Remove the agitator and check the drive block. It sounds like the spin tube has worn through the drive block and dropped down. Look at the two drive blocks in the picture. The one on the right is what it's suppose to look like.
