Hi
I have been searched on this website and found out that my refrigerator model 596.52673200 has the same problem as you discussed above. To be sure can I just order the defrost timer (915151) and defrost thermostat (916257) and replace them???
Thanks

The 106. model Kenmore is manufactured by Whirlpool. Your 596. model Kenmore was manufactured by Amana. So you're saying you have a defrost problem. Is that correct?

Yes, I have Kenmore model (59652673200)
Yes, I just manual defrosted the evaporator then 3 days later the frost was backed up. The cold air flow very little to the refrigerator after 3 days.
I also noticed that the thermostat, the lid was opened. just like it was exposed. So I think i will have to replace it too.
Defrost timer (915151) of my refrigerator is different from the one you posted up here. more costly.

That defrost thermostat is definitely bad. It's rare and very uncommon for more than one component in the defrost system to fail at the same time so try just replacing that part and maybe save a few bucks.

HI Rick
I placed order the thermostat part and it will deliver to my house tomorrow. Just assume my thermostat was bad
By looking at the wires, the installation it looks very simple. So do I just install the new part and it automatically defrost the frost? or do I need to do any thing else?
Thanks

Just install the part (remember to unplug the machine), put the cover over the coils back on, then kick back with a cold one because you did a good job!

I just installed the new thermostat. The frost started to melt. I can see the heater turned on.
Thanks very much.
