drum light in washer machine won't turn off after finished cycle
Brand:
Sears Kenmore

For about a week or so, the drum light in the washing machine will not turn off after finishing a cycle. I have to unplug the elect. coord from the elect. outlet for a few minutes. What could be wrong with it?

You may have a problem with the control board. The relay for the light is not turning off. The only remedy is to replace the control board. Otherwise, you can disconnect the wire connector to the light and it will never turn on at all.

Somoehow the washer mashine is back to normal, and I really don't know how that happened. When the problem first began my and I would always unplug it from the wall outlet. One day I forgot to do it and when I remembered a few hours later I went to unplug it and to my surprise it was off. I hit the power button and the machine powered on, hit the power button again and it powered off with light on for like 30 seconds then it turned itself off, which is how it's supposed to be.
I want to thank Jake & wildimaginations for responding to my question.
Sincerely,
R ANGEL
