Kenmore Elite HE4 dryer stopping with clothes still wet
Brand:
Sears Kenmore
Age:
6-10 years
Our dryer shuts off in the middle of the Manual cycle with the clothes still wet. Once the dryer cools down it will start up again. If we run on Med temp it seems to run okay for now. We have blown out the lint on both the Dryer and house so we know its not blocked.
It seems to be the high temp. Its like it is overheating and shutting down.
Should we replace the heating elment? or the thermosat.. and can you provide the part number and where it is at.
Thank you so much

Hi,

The motor shuts off in the middle of the cycle?...and won't restart unitl it has sat a while cooling?...if yes, it sounds more like a motor going sour and hsutting on on it's built in safety/thermal switch.

What happens is it seems to get hot and will stop then once it cools down it starts back up. If you see it and push the start button it will beep 3 times and nothing will happen. It will only restart once it has cooled down.
But If you select the Med temp level it runs the entire cycle fine with no issues.
So if your thinking it the motor I guess I'll need the part number for the motor.
Thank you for all your help.
