Default Kenmore Elite is leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher. A lot.

    Model Number: 665.15982990
    Brand: Sears Kenmore
    Age: 1-5 years

    Hello!
My Kenmore is leaking from the bottom of the tub. My instinct is to replace the door gasket - but I am NOT familiar with appliance repair and that just seems too easy to be true.
Any advice is very welcome - and break it down for me like you would a 10 year old, please.

Let's find out where it's leaking exactly. Remove the lower panel (4 screws) below the door. You'll need a flashlight. Start the machine and look for the leak. Take note how long the machine was running before you noticed it or what cycle it was in when you noticed it. Example: It started leaking when it was filling or It didn't start leaking until it went into the drain cycle. If it looks like it's leaking from a part, just describe the part and we'll figure it out from there.

Thanks for the reply. It starts leaking about a minute into the wash and it's leaking from the bottom of the door.

OK, it sounds like it's probably leaking from vent assembly or the soap dispenser. The best way to do this is to run the machine until it starts leaking. Open the door and remove the two screws on each side holding the front panel on and remove the front panel. You should be able to tell where it's leaking from. You can also close the door and run it with the panel off if it's a small leak.
